What makes me different

I actually listen to what you say

I will give you my opinion, but ultimately it’s your kitchen and your decision. I’ll try to make it work, but I won’t allow you to do anything that violates building codes and might compromise your safety.

I pay attention to the details

Your sink will be precisely centered on your windows, your appliances will have proper clearance, and your circulation will be optimized. There will be a place for everything: your recycling and compost bins, pet food, wine storage. You name it, and I'll make sure there's a dedicated space for it.

I’m up-front about budgets

Every client has a budget. My job is to stay within it. I can help you prioritize your needs by selecting appliances, lighting and finishes that are appropriate. It does me no good to go over budget because you’ll be unhappy and I won’t get a referral. And I love referrals!

I know how to find that happy compromise

Kitchen design is about compromise: Meeting your most important needs and letting go of the things that aren’t vital. Often I work with two people with different ideas and desires. Let's say one wants stained wood cabinets while the other is set on painted cabinets. The compromise: Painted cabinets on the wall, with an island in wood.

I’ve got experience and resources

Over the past six years, I've designed over 200 kitchens, large and small, in just about every style. I studied kitchen design at Canada College and appeared on TV with Joanne Weir's Cooking Class and HGTV's Landscape Smarts. My interest in sustainable design has led me from San Francisco to Berkeley to Montreal, where I've studied with the leading experts in green kitchens.
